Warrantless Wiretapping

My response is towards thinking politically about warrantless wiretapping. I could not agree anymore. It is so true, if the government really thinks something is up they should check it out without invading people's privacy. As she said yes it would be more work, but we should at least be able to have our conversations privately whether it is on the web or on the phone. I'm not saying i have anything to hide, but some things are just plain private and people just do not want anyone knowing just anything about them.

Gas prices are too friken high!!

Gah I think gas prices are too damn high!I know everyone thinks and agrees to this! It does nothing but increase over the weeks, before you know it we will be paying $5 a gallon if not that even more. And also before you know it, everyone will be riding the bus, bicycle, a moped, or even walking(haha)! Something needs to be done, as in lower the prices would be nice. I mean I am only a college kid, I am poor enough trying to make it on my own and if prices keep rising like they are I will not even be able to afford to drive to school anymore! These increases are jumping not only a cent everytime but sometimes even 10 to 15 cents at a time. No that does not sound much when mentioned but when you fill up your tank it surely does add up quite fast. Somehow or another something needs to be done or many people will not be going many places because of the cost being so high. Gas is up 64 cents more a gallon than it was last year, 64 cents!! If these prices do not eventually fall and lower people are going to be in serious financial problems, if they are not already.

I couldn't agree more with you. This article in fact clearly states all my thoughts and same opinions. You understand and relate knowing changes aren't easy, but to sum it as up as you said you have to make adjustments in your life if you plan on moving to a different country. Life is never simple. And as you talk about how Spanish is plastered everywhere, it is wrong. I mean do we go to Mexico and English is there along with Spanish? Not at all. People do deserve better lives and second chances, and if they are willing to make an effort and obide by all the rules I am for them 100%.

War in Iraq

I think our troops should be sent back home. This war has been going on for about five to six years now and needs to come to an end. Everyone is emotionally tied to this war and large amounts of money is always being spent. We keep sending more soldiers into this battle not knowing whether they will come out or not. I have some friends fighting in the war as we speak, and I would like to see them come home in one piece. There has been a total of 4,000 deaths, and that is not even including the injuries or permanent scarring these troops will face in their future that is supposively to last for one hundred years. Also the government is wasting too much money in this war and will keep pouring money down the drain until this fighting is over with. Yes, I know the cause of this war was because of the terrorism, and at the time I thought it was a good idea to go to war, but now it is just dragging out and is not even about the terroism factor anymore anyways. It is altogether just a big waste of everyone's time and money.

Huckabee is just the man for Texas....NOT!

This article the Austin American Statesmen is mainly about how such a "great" person Senator Mike Huckabee is, and how "bad" person Senator McCain is. Yet this is another prime example of how dirty politics are and can get. Can we not for once have a clean, fair race? I mean c'mon anyone can bash anyone and make the other person look like an angel. Everybody has made mistakes at one point and time in their life, there is no such thing as a completely clean, perfect person in this world. We make mistakes and we learn from them. And this article is just pointing out imperfections on Senator McCain, when I'm sure Senator Huckabee is right there with him, or even at that, he might even have more things wrong going for his campaign. You can say anything you please to say about anyone such as this person does about Senator Huckabee, but can you prove it or back it up with evidence? You think describing him as a, "dazzling campaigner" is going to help him out any? Ha that makes me laugh. Honestly if Senator Huckabee was as great as this article describes him, wouldn't he be at the top runnings with Senator Obama and Senator Clinton right now?

Clinton Sharpens Her Attack On Obama

This article I found in the New York Times, is yet another example of how politics get dirty. It is where canidates simply try to prove to the people that they are better than their competition by making the other person they are running against look bad by digging up some sort of dirt on them. Specifically it talks about how Senator Clinton puts down Senator Obama by saying he just speaks words and does not take action, that he just dreams and does not make it become reality, whereas on the other hand she does completely opposite by solving peoples problems instead of talking about them, she in plain terms thinks she makes things happen. Senator Clinton knows she is falling behind Senator Obama, she knows that he is taking on the lead, so she has to do everything in her right mind to stay up with him, even if that means playing dirty. All I have seen lately is "Clinton attacks Obama" in various articles on different sites. I think she should quit bringing Obama down and instead make herself look good by doing something positive. She is also in fact just saying "words" right now instead of taking action.

You've got Mailers!

This article will make you sick to know people will do anything to win. To put this article in a nutshell, it talks about how Clinton's "mailer" twisted Obama's words, making his statements false in some way, not exactly changing his messages completely but twisting his words around. I know when it comes to any kind of competition, especially politics things get quite messy, but to stoop so low to make a false impression of the competitor is flat out wrong. In my opinion if you want to win, make it clean, win with a guiltfree conscience.
